We publish every review we receive, whatever the rating. This page explains how reviews are collected, checked and published on stimz.com, and what we will and will not remove.

Who can leave a review

We only invite reviews from people who bought the product from us. About a week after your order is delivered we email you a link. Every review collected that way is marked Verified purchase on the site.

You can also review anything you have bought by signing in and opening the rewards widget: everything on your order history is there to rate.

Points for reviews, and why we say so

We give reward points for leaving a review, more if you add a photo or a video. The points are the same whatever rating you give. A one-star review earns exactly what a five-star review earns, and nothing about the points depends on what you write.

Reviews that earned points or a discount are labelled on the site, so you can see which ones were incentivised. Reviews we imported from our previous review provider, Loox, carry the same label where that provider gave a discount for them.

How reviews are published

Four and five star reviews from a verified purchase publish automatically once they pass an automatic check for personal information, abuse and spam.

Reviews of three stars or fewer are held for up to 48 hours so a person can read them and reply first. After that they publish regardless of whether we have replied. Holding a review is not a way of deciding whether to publish it: the decision has already been made.

Some reviews are flagged for a person to look at — an automatic check thinks it may contain someone's phone number, address or an insult, for example. Those are read by a human before publishing.

What we remove, and what we do not

We remove a review only for one of these reasons, and we record which one:

  • it is not from a genuine purchase
  • it contains personal data — someone's address, phone number, email or full name
  • it is abusive or offensive
  • it is about the wrong product
  • it is spam or an advert
  • it duplicates another review by the same person
  • the person who wrote it has asked us to remove it

We do not remove a review because it is negative, because it criticises the product, because it complains about delivery or our customer service, or because it says the product was not what the listing suggested. Those are the reviews that are most use to the next person.

If we remove a review, the points earned for it are removed too.

Editing

We never edit the text of a review. If we reply, our reply appears underneath it, clearly marked as coming from us. Your review stays published exactly as you wrote it.

Photos and videos

Adding a photo or video is optional. When you upload one you choose whether we may also use it on our social channels — you can decline and still get the points. If anyone under 18 appears in a photo or video, a parent or guardian has to give permission before we publish it.

Ratings shown on the site

The star rating on a product is the mean of every published review of that product. Where products come in several colours or sizes we group them, so all the Pocket Spikz reviews sit together rather than being split across every colourway. Products with fewer than three reviews show no star rating at all, because an average of one or two opinions is not an average.

Summaries of what reviewers say are written by an AI model from the published reviews for that product, and are labelled as AI summaries. They do not add anything that is not in the reviews, and the reviews themselves are always there to read.

Asking us about a review

If you want your review edited or removed, or you think a review breaks the rules above, email hello@stimz.com and tell us which product and which review. We will reply.

Reporting a problem

If you think we have handled reviews unfairly, you can contact us first at hello@stimz.com. You can also report a trader to the Competition and Markets Authority, or get advice from Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133.
