VAT Relief
What is VAT Relief?
VAT is usually added to UK products at 20%.
Some disabled or chronically sick customers can buy certain products without VAT.
This only applies when:
1) The customer qualifies and
2) The product qualifies
Not every sensory product is eligible.
What products qualify?
is it all of them?
Only products with the green
"Eligible for VAT relief" badge.
VAT relief does not apply to everything on our website.
Some products may be helpful, but HMRC rules mean they still may not qualify.
If there is no green badge, VAT relief cannot be applied.
Who can claim?
Am I eligible?
You may qualify if you are disabled or chronically sick for VAT purposes.
This usually means you have a physical or mental impairment, health condition, or long-term need that has a substantial effect on everyday life.
You can also claim if you are buying for someone who qualifies.
You do not need to tell us your diagnosis.
A temporary injury, such as a broken bone, does not usually qualify.
How do I claim?
We make it simple
1) Add an eligible product to your basket.
2) Click Apply for VAT relief.
3) Complete the declaration.
4) Activate your account by email.
5) VAT relief will apply to eligible products when you are logged in.
VAT is only removed from eligible products.
Standard products stay at the normal price.

Not buying for yourself?
Buying for someone who does not qualify
VAT relief is a personal entitlement. If you are buying an eligible product as a gift for someone who does not meet the conditions above, you can pause VAT relief just for that order. Open your basket, click Edit VAT status, then choose Pause VAT relief for this order. The full 20% VAT will be charged on that order, and your relief is automatically restored the moment the order is paid so the next order you place is back to zero rated. This protects you from making an inadvertent false declaration to HMRC.
Important to read
before applying
By submitting the application form you are claiming relief from VAT under Group 12 of Schedule 8 to the Value Added Tax Act 1994. It is an offence to make a false declaration. More information about VAT relief is available at www.gov.uk.
If anything in the criteria above is unclear, or you are unsure whether your condition qualifies, please consult your doctor or a medical adviser before applying.
You're all set!
We've set up your VAT relief account. Check your email for activation instructions — eligible products will be zero-rated at checkout once you've activated.
